☆ Black Rock Shooter

☆ So for writing class, we had to bring in a song we were listening to a lot lately. Since I've been listening to a lot of vocaloid, I brought in "Black Rock Shooter".
Bad idea. The project was to listen to a song and write a short story based on it.
And since I've seen the Black Rock Shooter movie, that was what popped into my head most of the time. =_=
In the end I did end up writing a pretty decent short story; "BlackRockShooter" became the screenname for a mysterious girl sending messages online to a boy who just became a college freshman... I like it a lot. c: I'm thinking of editing the story a bit, and then drawing it out and submitting it to this manga contest I heard about. <3

☆ Yesterday I had to run a 10 k for my PE final... I didn't make my time. D: I really hope I'm not forced to do it again... especially since so many of my friends passed. ;_;
My legs and back hurt soooo much. D: Thank god Advil exists.

☆ I've been watching It Started With A Kiss a lot more lately. Doing homework and watching Asian dramas at the same time is a bad idea...
Xiang Qin is starting to become annoying. =_= So luckily that's putting me off from my addiction for a while.

☆ We're going to eat Chinese food tonight. c: Fried rice, beef broccoli, cold ginger chicken, and kau yuk with bun... YAY!
And the best part is I get to take the leftovers with me to school tomorrow. ^_^

☆ I need to study math and economics and physics... =_= I have homework and tests coming up...

☆ Genie

☆ Life's been blah lately. I'm still falling behind in college stuff... I feel like I'm improving a bit in school though, so that's good.
I reeeeally need to start sending more stuff and checking with my counselor, and my portfolio is due sooon... DX

☆ My awesome boyfriend surprised me with a special edition YuGiOh fan calendar... I'll cherish it always. <3 Not only did I get the calendar, but also a notice about a monthly manga contest and a coupon to redeem gaia online gold and a mystery 2010 box! (^o^)v
I redeemed the coupon, but I didn't get the box. I DID however get the 2500 gold promised, as well as a wing pin, Convention bundle, zOMG bundle, AND a conventioneer achievement...
I wonder if everyone got these, or if it was just randomly thrown in?
Well anyway... that's not even the best part! The calendar is also signed by one of slifertheskydragon, one of my favorite artists on deviantart! Score!!!

☆ Other than that, today was pretty routine. I only had two classes, so during my free time I did economics homework, got some physics tutoring, and hung around with my friends.
I'm still pretty terrible with physics, but I think I understand better now...
Sadly I didn't get in any practice for music class, which is pretty bad because we're performing soon... ugh... >_<

☆ I've got a 10k run on this saturday with an hour and 40 minutes to finish... that means I have to go roughly 16 mph... my fastest speed is 13 or 14, which is pretty bad. ;_;
But most of the time I can run 15 and pace myself pretty well. I'm going to aim for 15... hopefully I can make it so I don't have to repeat my PE event. D: Because that would majorly suck...
My school's PE requirement is too harsh. ;_;

☆ Well, not much else to say that I can think of at the moment... Oh! One of my friends found a really cool theorem for circles, so I'm probably gonna have something to update my math blog with pretty soon. c:

☆ The Sweet Escape

☆ Ever feel like you just want to escape from everything in your life? @_@ Yeah, I've felt that a lot lately.

☆ Warning: Minor ranting below.

☆ Yesterday I had to go to required chapel service at school, and I was really pissed off afterwards because the speakers are so hypocritical... mostly telling us to love each other and support each other, but you HAVE to be our religion and do this or you're a bad person. Also, apparently hanging out with atheist friends will make you unloved. :\
It didn't help that I was already pissed when I went in. Mostly because of the bad day I was having the day before.
I forgot to turn in economics homework that I spent an hour working on, and another assignment I spent half an hour working on got lost... so... yeah. D: I got a grade drop in economics...
And that wouldn't have happened if I wasn't feeling so BLEH because of lack of sleep...
Lack of sleep which was a result from having really bad cramps the night before.
And the cramps being a result of having my period.
Which I was supposed to have last week, but I didn't because I was feeling too stressed from college stuff and school piling up.

/ rant

☆ So yeah... ultimately when things go really wrong in my life, I always can trace back the root to being something that's beyond my control or something I could have never predicted would happen.

☆ I really just wish there was a way to freeze time with a pause button and escape to a place where I could unwind until I have a plan and stress goes away.
But nope. If I do have a pause button it's permanently broken forever and I just have to deal with how my life plays out... (although sometimes I feel like I'm on fast-forward and playing my own antagonist >_< ).

☆ Okay, enough TV metaphors. :\

☆ I talked to my mom, and she really helped me sort out the religion thing. I think I've found a better belief system for me now.
And I spent a lot of time thinking too, and I just decided I need to take what life throws at me in stride, and power through it. Because I'm one tough cookie, and I can get through whatever life throws at me, ya know?
I'm making a to-do list of things to help me out this weekend, and if I get them all done I'm gonna reward myself with something... not sure what yet. Maybe I'll draw something.

☆ Imaginary Sweet Escape or not, I'll find a way to get through this slump.

☆ My system is going to be: 2 homework assignments/required things I don't want to do, 1 fun thing that needs to be done.

☆ I'm going to start with one fun thing first. =) Wish me luck!

Review: What Bubz says is kind of all over the place, but the message is there. In fact, I kind of like it better this way, because it seems more like a friend is talking to me.
Don't hate others. Focus on improving yourself as a person, and the rest of your life will follow.
Thanks for the reminder Bubz, I needed to hear that. c: Thanks for the high-five and I'm totally gonna be drinking that bubble tea with you! <3

Review: Man, Skye's really talented! Animating, voice acting, music, random humor... he's a one-man show! :D Very nice rendition of Nemisis from Phineas and Ferb. And to quote one commenter, the second video is like watching a live rendition of the FFFFFFFUUUUUU meme. :D

☆ Listen to My Heart

☆ So I've started my second semester of senior year... my last year of high school. My review of classes goes as follows:

☆ English: This year I'm taking a writing course. The teacher seems nice enough, but there are a few things she says that irk me.
First off, she recommends all of your characters to be like you in some way, because you know yourself the best. My question is: Why? Isn't this kind of limiting? Of course, I haven't voiced this opinion out loud (yet), but still.  I know that it's good to write what you know, but it's also possible to write what you don't through interviews, books, and research. With the internet the world has become much smaller now. And I know that she probably meant this as advice to the beginning writers in the class, but...
She's almost forty and most of her characters are all girls/women who grew up in the same place she did and likes the things she does. I'm sorry, what you write about is your business, but as a teacher aren't you supposed to encourage each individual student to do what works for them? And this writing strategy won't really work for me. I like to research a bit and make main characters who aren't that much like me. I recognize that my life is NOT that interesting, and all of the times I have tried to insert myself into a story I end up with a Mary Sue-esque girl running around. I've tried, this strategy fails for me.
Moving on, she also admitted that she's team edward. Which makes most of the girls in class go OMG because 16 out of 20 people in the class are female, most of them still reading Twilight. GOOD LORD.
If my teacher is one of those ladies who advocates Twilight as some of teh best books evar, I'm going to be tempted to hit her in the head with a copy of Dracula.
I really hope not, because she seems pretty cool, like someone I would get along with. I'm hoping she just said that to appease the Twitard fanbase in class.
And on the plus side, she said anyone who turns in a story of a girl falling in love with a magical creature will get a zero.
I'm bringing a drawing of Bella being run over with a van and "TEAM TYLER" written on it to class later, just to test her.
And I'm going to write a story about a girl falling in love with a centaur and then being killed for beastiality... okay, maybe not the second idea. That might be a bit much...
At least this means I get to spend a lot of time writing, regardless of if it fits to her standards or not.
Two of my friends and my boyfriend are in my class, though. And we're probably going to form a writing group together. Another thing my teacher says is that most times boyfriends and girlfriends don't make good editors for each other... my boyfriend, however, has been helping me edit my writing since BEFORE I started dating. So I'm going to disagree with her here too. Maybe some couples would have problems, but I won't and don't.

☆ Okay, time to stop bashing. Moving onto Music. I'm learning to play an instrument as a graduation requirement. I'm BAD at it, but luckily my teacher is treating everyone like we're all total retards when it comes to music so the class is going at a pace I can keep up to.
Of course, everyone else seems bored because of this, but whatever, that doesn't matter to me much. I'm just glad I'm passing.
I'm going to take home an instrument loan over the weekends as often as possible so I can get better. c:
I don't know anyone in the class except for one guy in my grade (mostly underclassmen), but that's okay. None of us really work together for anything during class so it's not a big deal.

☆ Last new class is Economics. I really like the teacher. She doesn't take crap from anyone but tells people when they're wrong in a very polite way. Her class is extremely challenging, but I think I'm going to do very well when it comes time to take my AP economics exam.
The homework is already beginning to kill me, but that's okay. I'm learning a lot of interesting things and I like to learn, so that makes me happy.
I'm planning on using what I learn to take advantage of the virtual markets for all the online games I play...
...that's legal, right?

☆ I got assigned to a new PE teacher. She seems nice and takes pity on me because of my health problems. I think this means I'm going to pass. Yay! :D

☆ Also, I thought my calculator was stolen, but luckily my mom found it in my room. Also yay! Sadly, I didn't get the program to complete the homework for the weekend. Boo! D:

☆ I need to finish doing college stuff... it always seems like that's the case. D:

☆ The Middle

☆ So, new years and Christmas both went very well for me. ^_^

☆ As promised by my parents, all of the presents I picked out were wrapped up and put under our tiny 2-foot plastic tree. It was amazing. Truly, being with my family tops any decorations in making a true Christmas. <3
☆ As an additional surprise, I also got a few things I wasn't expecting! My FAVORITE is my new acrylic paint set from Santa. <3 I also got a bunch of monies, a new jacket, and candies too!
☆ From my friends from school, I just have to say WOW at their presents! Pocky, bunny-shaped riceball mold, 4 new pairs of chopsticks, a bunny washcloth, a beautiful necklace, a magnifying glass, bento accessories, and a new wallet. <3 Love them all!
☆ We went to my grandparents' house afterward, and I opened some more presents. A joke calendar, new clothes, and more monies! >w< We also got cookies and fresh fruit from the neighbors. <3
Afterward we finished off the day with my mom's delicious pork ginger ribs and chicken katsu. <3

☆ My boyfriend loves the Pikachu shirt I got him, and I still need to get the presents to my other two friends. >_< Boyfriend also says that he's going to be giving me some special presents when he sees me later on... I can't wait! <3 I wonder what he got me... Hmm...

☆ New Years went awesomely! We ate Hawaiian food and I pretended the sparklers we were playing with were magic wands... I must've looked pretty funny shouting "EXPECTO PATRONUS" while waving the sparklers around. XD

☆ Then after the celebrations are all over, I realized I would have to go back and face reality... I start my last semester of high school later this week, and I also have oodles of college application stuff due this week and next week.

☆ ...wow. It just struck me. This is my LAST semester of high school... time sure has passed quickly.
