☆ Yesterday I went to watch the latest Harry Potter movie with my friends from the math team, plus a whole bunch of other kids at our school who just happened to be near the mall/at the same theater as us.
☆ I haven't actually seen movies #5 and 6, so I was pretty confused about... everything. But despite my confusion, it was still a good movie. How good? I'd say good enough that I don't regret the 8 dollars I paid for my ticket, but not so good enough that I was happy we went to watch that instead of Tangled (which I hear has amazing artwork, which only makes me want to see it more!)
☆ Before we actually met up and went into the theater, I stopped by the discount bookstore and browsed, finding nothing I was interested in, and then GameStop, finding nothing I was interested in that I could actually afford.
☆ Upon leaving GameStop, some lady at a coffee stand called out to me and tried to sell me coffee... which is strange, because I don't think I did anything to indicate I needed coffee whatsoever, unless being a fully wide awake and happy looking teenage girl indicates I need coffee.
So after the brief, awkward "no thanks", I walked to Sanrio. On the way I saw an adorable cropped shirt; black, with the word "LOVE" across the front in white. I stopped momentarily to look at it and admire how much the design reminded me of the designs bubzbeauty does [ like so: http://www.bubzbeauty.com/bubbi/shop/ ] and then moved on.
☆ I bought a sheet of stickers in pastel colors shaped like ribbons and hearts with lots of sparkles and jewels, and a new lead pencil, and then ate Chinese food for lunch and met up with my friends.
☆ After we watched the movie, we went to Fun Factory and I played about $5 worth of games.
☆ We also ate at the frozen yogurt bar, and my friends teased me about my strange taste. Hey! Cake batter, vanilla, and taro yogurt topped with mochi, cheesecake, rainbow sprinkles, creme caramel, and marshmellow sauce SOUNDS gross, but it's actually really delicious! >:c
Then one of my guy friends who was STILL hungry wanted to go get a pretzel. So we went to the pretzel place, and I stared at the shirt in the window some more...
☆ And finally, decided to buy it.
☆ Unfortunately, I was out of money. :c
☆ But fortunately, I found a twenty dollar bill in the outside pocket of my bag. o_o Odd, but a blessing, so I bought the shirt. ^_^ And I'm very happy with my purchase, because it's very comfy and cute.
☆ We parted ways a little while after that, and I went to my grandma's house to help cook for Thanksgiving the next day. My mom stopped by to help too, and then we stopped to get McDonalds on the way home. I got a Happy Meal, because it came with an awesome Hello Kitty watch. :D We also stopped at the store and got some stuff, including yummy candy on sale and a bottle of iced Jasmine tea. ^_^ Then when I got home I decorated my Nintendo DS with the stickers as a substitute for those decora covers that cost like, 30 bucks ( so technically I saved 25 dollars c: ). After that I was tired o I collapsed and fell asleep.
☆ This morning I went back to grandma's with mom, and we worked on the stuffing and turkey. My mom showed me how to sew it up. It was my first experience sewing up a turkey's butt, but considering nothing leaked out so it was very juicy, I'd say I did a great job. c:
☆ Afterward we hung around a little while, and since I had my DS I tried to show my grandpa how Pokemon works. After ten minutes, I think the only thing he had concluded was that kids in my age group have strange taste in hobbies, and that I must have been joking when I told him pretty soon there's going to be a portable gaming system that has holograms.
☆ Then we went home, took a nap, and I changed into my new shirt. c: I wore my ensemble with my cream camisole and dark jeans. ^_^ We went back, ate until we got tired, and came back home with a ton of food.
☆ But before I left, I had to ask my grandma one thing: The other day at school, there were lemons to garnish the fish we were eating for lunch in the cafeteria. The conversation at my lunch table led to me sticking one in my mouth, and upon doing so I suddenly had the feeling I'd done something like that before.
☆ I asked my mom if she'd ever fed me lemons as a child, and she looked at me weird and said of course not.
☆ So I asked my grandma.
☆ It turns out that she did, in fact, feed me dried lemons marinated in lemon juice, given to her by one of her neighbors. Apparently, they're very good for sore throats.
☆ So, my question is answered, and my mom is also concerned about what other strange things her mother may have exposed me to as a child, and how messed up that's going to make me in the future.
☆ The thing I'm most thankful for is my strange, wonderful family. c:
Happy Thanksgiving.
